Waarom een gecombineerd congres? Naast praktische redenen zijn er gezamenlijke doelstellingen met 'Open' en Educatie. Bezoekers die uitsluitend sprekers uit een van de deelnemende organisaties willen horen, kunnen dat met behoud van ruime keuzevrijheid doen.

De conferentie helpt kennis te vergaren en zelf succesvoller projecten en implementaties te doen. Verder is er de uitgelezen kans te netwerken.

De vierde conferentie van HollandOpen is bedoeld voor informatiemanagers, algemeen- en technisch managers, beroeps- en amateur automatiseerders. Het tweedaags congres biedt een perfecte korte ontmoeting met zakelijke en community aspecten van Open Software, Open standaarden, en Open Content. De eerste dag is een vogelvlucht door het hele 'Open' spectrum en ligt daarnaast specifiek de nadruk op Educatie. De tweede dag staat de professionalisering van Open toepassingen in de schijnwerpers met als stralend middelpunt OpenOffice.org

Verder kunt u een twintigtal bedrijfspresentaties op de expo bezoeken van commerciële dienstverleners die de HollandOpen conferentie sponsoren. U heeft de mogelijkheid om honderden bezoekers, sprekers en vooraanstaande community-members van Open projecten te ontmoeten. Iedereen met de gezamenlijke doelstelling om open source (business) toepassingen een succes te maken en de daartoe wenselijke verbindingen te maken naar dichtbij gelegen technologieën en ontwikkelingen. HollandOpen is een not for profit Stichting en dat geldt uiteraard ook voor de (organisatie van de) conferentie.

De expositievloer bevindt zich in het Rhone gebouw en is de tevens de centrale ontmoetingsplek en toegang tot de plenaire (grote) zaal.

Central theme

The central theme is Open Up! This fourth and internationally oriented edition will host 500 participants per day. Visitors that are concerned with open source, open education, open standards and content either for private or business reasons, can attend on a day by day basis. The combined effort makes the HollandOpen Conference 2008 larger in scope and variation then any previous edition. Why a combined conference? Besides practical reasons there is an overlap in goals between these organizations where it comes to 'Open Education', although visitors that want to attend specific lines of subjects presented by these individual organizations will find it easy to do so.

Common goal

The common goal of the conference is knowledge transfer, knowledge that will enable the visitor to set up, sell or acquire and implement open solutions. The inspiring social networking environment is with no doubt a strong contribution to that central goal.

The fourth HollandOpen Conference is targeted at information managers, general managers and technical managers, professionals from the ICT sector and enthusiasts that want to improve their current ICT skills. In two days, the HollandOpen Conference delivers a perfect meeting ground for exploration of the business and community aspects of Open Software, Open Standards, and Open Content.
