Which speakers were there?
Among the speakers were: The founder of Wikipedia Jimbo Wales; Vice President of IBM Scott Handy; Madan Mohan Rao from India, Bangalore; Jesus Villansante (EU, information society); Dirk Willem van Gulik, Apache Foundation; one of Sun's distinguised engineers James Baty; Alan Williamson and many others.
“It is still possible to take a look at the program for details of the tracks and all speakers!”
The pile drivers are open source software and open standards but there is much more: innovation, quality control, open GIS, (mobile) games, standardization, e-government, portal technology, content management, semantic web, open law, organizing communities, open development, knowledge management, (e-)learning, and legal issues are some of the most important. Hungry for information? The first Holland Open will dazzle you!
This three-day mega event will be held at the premises of the University of Amsterdam, right in the heart of the Dutch capital.
The first two days are all about the speakers and projects. Be sure not to miss the keynotes from real heavy weights, like: Scott Handy (IBM), Enrica Chiozza (EU), Jimbo Wales (Wikipedia), James Baty (Sun) and many others. Listen to them talking about current issues, their vision on the future and their believes in for instance open source software.
The third and last day is a day for somewhat more debating and workshops. You want to know more about a project? You like to hear someone’s opinion about a overlooked subject? Now is the time!
Experience the new world: visit the Holland Open. Through the register page on this site you can order a three day pass for this event nobody wants to miss. But it isn’t all so serious, there’s also time to relax. Because of the birth of the Holland Open Software Conference we have a special party night planned on the first day.
The keynotes will be held at the beginning of the Conference at the Aula of the University of Amsterdam. All other presentations, debates and workshops and later keynotes will be given at the Faculty of Law at the Oudemanhuispoort, situated on walking distance.
