The infrastructure of the web is build on top of many succesfull Open Source products like Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, sendmail etc. Most of the operating systems running on servers are Open Source like Linux, FreeBSD etc. Top-nodge applications have been developed for solutions directly related to the web like content management, webbrowsers etc. What is the next step, how will Open Source move towards the business infrastructure. Most new applications are developed based on Web Technology, so what will the next wave look like. In this track we will toch on the status of ERP and CRM and the experiences with the implementation of these type solutions. An implementation of Compiere will be presented, as well as an evaluation of Open Source CRM systems.

For realizing these type of solutions major core applications have been developed. Based on the W3C standard query language for XML data, both the database research community and industry have been trying to create systems that efficiently implement XQuery on large XML databases. Stefan Manegold will present "MonetDB/XQuery", an open-source system that provides a full-fledged implementation of XQuery. Gerard Vandome will tell the ObjectWeb story.
